Welcome to the Peninsular Gold website
The Company
Peninsular Gold Limited was incorporated in April 2005 in Jersey (registration number: 89895) and listed on AIM, London Stock Exchange on 23rd June 2005 (EPIC code: PGL).
Peninsular is a gold mining Company with projects located in the vicinity of Raub, State of Pahang, Malaysia. Raub is a historic gold mining centre, and mines in the vicinity are known to have produced over 1 million oz.
The Projects
At Peninsular's Raub project, approximately 202,000 oz of proven reserves in the form of tailings have been identified, and it is the Company's intention to construct a modern Carbon-in-Leach processing plant adjacent to these tailings so that low cost gold production may commence in 2008.
Peninsular has also identified 213,000 oz of gold resources at the Raub project, of these 52,000 oz are in the measured and indicated JORC category and the balance in the inferred category. In addition to the Raub reserves and resources, 528,000 oz of inferred resources have been identified at Tersang, a nearby project.
In total, the Company's interests encompass an area of over 210 square kilometres and are all located within Malaysia's central gold belt, which hosts the majority of Peninsular Malaysia's gold occurences, including the currently operating Penjom gold mine.
Corporate Objectives
Peninsular's primary corporate objective is to discover a minimum of 5 million ounces of gold in its Malaysian project areas. Specifically, the Company aims to outline between one and two million oz of gold at each of the Raub and Tersang projects, and hopes to delineate further resources from other regional targets.
Peninsular intends to do this with the utmost sensitivity to the needs of local community and environment, and strives to be at the forefront of the implementation of sustainable gold mining practices.
